Lumi Circles: a private home for your homeschool co-op
Plan meetups, talk with other homeschool parents and, if you choose, give your kids a small, filtered room of their own. Only for Lumi Academy and Lumi High members.
Lumi Circles screens on a phone: the parents' feed, a co-op home with the next meetup and a kids' room
What Lumi Circles is
Lumi Circles is a private community inside Lumi for homeschool families. Think of a Facebook group that was rebuilt around kids' safety and the way co-ops actually run: a group for your co-op, a place to plan, a parents' feed, and an optional room for kids.
It is available only to active Lumi Academy and Lumi High members. Every person inside is a parent with a paid Lumi account, so there is no public sign-up and nobody can drop in from the open internet. It is text only: no photos and no video, anywhere.
What parents get
A parents' feed. Ask questions, share what worked and meet other Lumi parents. Text only.
Co-op groups. Start a co-op with a name, a short bio and your goals, or browse the directory and ask to join. Co-op owners can ask joining families a few questions first.
Invite links and QR codes. Bring your own families in with a link or a printable QR poster.
Plans and sign-ups. Post a meetup, collect RSVPs and let families sign up for jobs such as snacks, setup and helpers.
Co-op chat and topics. Parent chat and threaded topics for each co-op.
Family profiles. Parents list their children's age brackets and what they are looking for in a co-op, so owners know who they are welcoming before they accept a request.
The optional kids' room
Kids never get a public profile or a free-for-all chat. The kids' room is off until a co-op admin turns it on, and then each child must be approved by their own parent, one child at a time.
Kids only talk with kids in their own co-op.
Five separate age rooms: ages 6 to 8, 9 to 11, 11 to 13, 14 to 16 and 16 to 18. Older kids never share a room with younger ones.
A child appears as their Lumi Pets pet name, not their real name.
Strict word filters. Anything flagged is hidden automatically until a grown-up reviews it.
Parents can see every room and every message.
Typing is a separate parent switch with its own consent step. Kids can also share simple progress cards and send preset cheers.
What Circles is not. It is not a public network, and it does not replace your judgment. Filters catch a lot but not everything, and Lumi does not organize or supervise meetups. Parents stay responsible for their own children, online and in person.

Circles is one part of what you get
Lumi Academy lessons for Pre-K through 12th grade, so your co-op days can be about friends and projects, not catching up on curriculum.
Lumi High comes with Academy, so older kids stay in the same account as their younger siblings.
One flat plan covers up to 8 learners, and Circles is included on every paid plan.
Start the free 48-hour trial. Circles opens with a paid Lumi Academy or Lumi High plan; the free 48-hour trial lets you try the lessons first, no card needed.
Frequently asked questions
Who can use Lumi Circles?
Active, paying Lumi Academy and Lumi High members. A free trial does not include it, because Circles connects you with real families and we keep it members-only.
Is Lumi Circles a social network for kids?
No. It is a private community for parents, with an optional, filtered kids' room that a co-op admin must switch on and a parent must approve for each child. There are no photos or video, and kids are shown only by a pet name.
Can my child chat with older kids or strangers?
No. Kids only reach kids in their own approved co-op and their own age room (6 to 8, 9 to 11, 11 to 13, 14 to 16 or 16 to 18). Parents can read everything in every room.
What happens to messages that get flagged?
Kids' messages that trip the filters or get reported are hidden automatically until a parent, co-op admin or Lumi staff reviews them.
Does Lumi supervise co-op meetups?
No. Lumi provides the online space. It does not organize, vet, staff or supervise meetups, and parents remain responsible for their own children.
Do I have to use the kids' room?
No. You can use Circles as a parents-only community and leave the kids' room off.
