Terms of Service
Last updated: August 11, 2026
Welcome to Lumi, operated by YourSpace LLC ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Service govern your use of all Lumi platforms, including Lumi Academy (lumi-academy.org) and Lumi High (lumihigh.web.app), as well as any associated mobile apps (collectively, the "Services"). By accessing or using any Lumi platform, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
1. Who Can Use Lumi
Lumi Academy is designed for children ages 5–14 under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
Lumi High is designed for students in grades 9–12 (approximately ages 14–18) under the supervision of a parent or guardian.
Accounts must be created by a parent or guardian who is at least 18 years old. By creating an account, you confirm that you are the parent or legal guardian of any student using the service.
2. Account Responsibilities
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and password
- You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized use of your account
- One account may be used for multiple children in the same household
3. Nature of the Service
Lumi Academy and Lumi High are offered as informal, supplemental educational entertainment platforms. They are provided as learning companions only, and nothing in either platform constitutes formal instruction, tutoring, or academic advising. Neither Lumi Academy nor Lumi High is accredited by any federal, state, regional, or private accreditation authority. Completion of content on either platform does not constitute an official grade, academic credit, diploma, transcript, certificate, or any academic qualification recognized by any institution or employer. Do not rely on either platform as your sole homeschool compliance mechanism — parents are solely responsible for complying with their state's homeschool registration and reporting laws.
4. Children's Privacy & Parental Supervision
Lumi platforms are designed to be used by children only under direct parental supervision and through a parent/guardian account. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13. By creating an account, you represent that you are a parent or legal guardian (18+) creating the account on behalf of your child(ren). All data associated with child profiles is entered by you, the parent, and you are solely responsible for supervising your child's use of the Services. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal data without parental consent, contact us immediately at the address below.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Lumi platforms are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that the services will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that they will meet your specific educational requirements.
10. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, YourSpace LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of any Lumi platform.
11. Digital Content Disclaimer
Some lesson content, feedback, and supplementary materials on Lumi platforms may be produced with the assistance of third-party technology, including artificial intelligence tools. Such content is not individually reviewed by a certified educator before display and may occasionally contain inaccuracies. YourSpace LLC disclaims all responsibility for errors, omissions, or any harm arising from such content. Parents are encouraged to review lessons alongside their children and let us know if you spot anything that needs correcting.
12. Promotional Benefits and Subscriber Events
From time to time, YourSpace LLC may announce, plan, or offer promotional benefits, community events, in-person gatherings, trips, or other special perks ("Promotional Benefits") to qualifying subscribers of any Lumi platform. These Promotional Benefits are offered as discretionary, value-added perks at the sole election of YourSpace LLC and do not constitute a contractual obligation, guaranteed deliverable, or purchased service.
By participating in or relying on any announced Promotional Benefit, you acknowledge and agree to all of the following:
- All Promotional Benefits are subject to change, modification, postponement, or cancellation at any time and for any reason, including but not limited to insufficient participation, logistical constraints, financial considerations, force majeure, vendor cancellations, weather, public health concerns, or any other circumstance within or outside of our control.
- Announcement or promotion of a planned event does not create a binding commitment by YourSpace LLC to hold, execute, or deliver that event in any form.
- Eligibility for any Promotional Benefit is determined solely by YourSpace LLC and is subject to qualification requirements, verification, availability, participation minimums, good standing on your subscription account, and any additional criteria communicated at the time of the event.
- Promotional Benefits are not transferable, exchangeable, or redeemable for cash or subscription credit under any circumstances.
- YourSpace LLC is not responsible for and will not reimburse any costs incurred by subscribers or their families in anticipation of or preparation for any Promotional Benefit, including but not limited to travel, lodging, time off work, transportation, childcare, clothing, gear, or any other personal expenses, whether or not the event is cancelled, postponed, or modified.
- Spots or attendance capacity for any event are limited and are allocated at the sole discretion of YourSpace LLC. Meeting eligibility criteria does not guarantee a spot.
- In-person events and trips are not all-inclusive unless explicitly stated. Where Lumi specifies what is covered (e.g., event admissions or a dinner package), all other costs remain the responsibility of the attending family.
- YourSpace LLC shall bear no liability whatsoever — including indirect, incidental, consequential, or emotional damages — arising from the cancellation, modification, or postponement of any Promotional Benefit.
- Participation in any in-person event may require execution of a separate liability waiver, release of claims, and/or media release prior to attendance. Failure to execute required documents may result in forfeiture of your spot without compensation.
- Your subscription fee is charged solely for access to the Lumi digital learning platforms. No portion of any subscription fee is allocated to, reserved for, or refundable on the basis of any Promotional Benefit.
Any additional terms specific to a particular event will be communicated in advance and shall supplement (not replace) this section.
13. Creator Referral Program
YourSpace LLC may invite individuals ("Creators") to promote Lumi using a unique referral code. Participation is entirely at our discretion and governed by this section.
- Commission. A Creator earns the commission percentage stated to them in writing at the time their code is issued (the "Rate"), calculated on the net amount actually received and settled by YourSpace LLC for a qualifying sale — after any discount, promotional pricing, payment-processing fee, platform fee, or tax. Commission is not calculated on list price.
- Qualifying sale. A sale qualifies only where the purchaser applied the Creator's active code to their account prior to purchase and the payment has fully settled. Sales where no code was applied, where the code was inactive or expired at the time of application, or which cannot be attributed by our systems do not qualify. Our records of attribution are the controlling record.
- Excluded transactions. Free trials, gifted or comped memberships, internal or test accounts, a Creator's own purchases or those of their household, and any transaction we reasonably determine to be self-referral, fraudulent, duplicative, or made with a stolen or unauthorized payment method are excluded and earn no commission.
- Payout schedule and method. Where a balance is owed, we intend to pay every two (2) weeks by Cash App or Venmo to the account details the Creator provides. Payment timing is a target and not a guarantee. The Creator is solely responsible for supplying accurate payment details; we are not liable for funds sent to an incorrect handle, an account the Creator does not control, or an account that is closed, frozen, or restricted.
- Minimum balance. We may hold balances under twenty-five U.S. dollars ($25.00) and carry them forward until that threshold is met.
- Clawback. Commission is earned only on revenue we retain. If a qualifying sale is later refunded, charged back, reversed, or cancelled for any reason, the associated commission is forfeited, and we may deduct it from any current or future balance or request repayment of amounts already paid.
- Holding period. We may withhold payment on any sale for up to sixty (60) days to allow chargeback and refund windows to close.
- Independent contractor; no employment. Every Creator is an independent contractor and is treated as a 1099 contractor for United States tax purposes. No Creator is an employee, partner, agent, joint venturer, franchisee, or representative of YourSpace LLC under any circumstance. Nothing in this program creates an employment relationship, and no Creator is entitled to wages, overtime, benefits, insurance, workers' compensation, unemployment compensation, paid leave, expense reimbursement, or any other benefit of employment. Creators control their own methods, schedule, content, and means of promotion, and use their own equipment and accounts.
- Taxes. Creators are solely responsible for all federal, state, local, and self-employment taxes on amounts received. We do not withhold taxes. We may require a completed Form W-9 (or equivalent) before any payment is issued, and may be required to issue a Form 1099 where thresholds are met. We may withhold payment until required tax documentation is provided.
- No authority; no representation. A Creator has no authority to bind YourSpace LLC, to enter agreements, to make offers, to set prices, to grant refunds or access, to speak for us, or to make any representation, warranty, or guarantee on our behalf. We do not review, endorse, sponsor, or accept responsibility for any Creator's content, statements, opinions, advertising, or conduct, and no Creator's content should be understood as originating from or approved by us. Creators must not describe themselves as an employee, spokesperson, partner, or official representative of Lumi or YourSpace LLC.
- Each party liable for its own conduct. Each Creator is solely and fully liable for their own acts and omissions, including their content, marketing claims, disclosures, use of third-party platforms, and compliance with all applicable laws, platform rules, and advertising regulations. To the maximum extent permitted by law, each Creator agrees to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless YourSpace LLC, its owners, officers, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, liability, damage, penalty, fine, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to that Creator's conduct, content, statements, or breach of these Terms.
- No ownership interest. Participation in the Creator Referral Program confers no equity, ownership, membership interest, profit-sharing interest, revenue-sharing interest beyond the commission expressly described in this section, licence, security, partnership interest, or any other stake in YourSpace LLC, Lumi Academy, Lumi High, or any related property. A Creator acquires no right, title, or interest in our intellectual property, brand, content, curriculum, customer data, or goodwill, and no right to continued participation or to any future payment beyond commission already earned on settled, non-refunded qualifying sales.
- Conduct. Creators must disclose the referral relationship as required by law, including the U.S. FTC Endorsement Guides. Creators must not: bid on our brand terms in paid search; make claims about Lumi that are false, misleading, or that we have not published; represent themselves as Lumi, YourSpace LLC, or an employee; distribute codes via spam, unsolicited messaging, coupon-scraping sites, or paid-incentive networks; or self-refer. Breach voids all unpaid commission.
- Changes and termination. We may modify the Rate, deactivate any code, or terminate the program or any Creator's participation at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Commission already earned on settled, non-refunded qualifying sales prior to termination remains payable subject to this section. No Creator has any right to continued participation, to a particular Rate, or to any minimum earnings.
- No guarantee. We make no representation as to the volume of sales, earnings, or income a Creator may achieve. Any figures discussed are illustrative only.
- Records. Our internal reporting is the sole and final record of codes, attributed sales, amounts owed, and amounts paid. Creators should retain their own records; we are not obliged to provide reporting in any particular format or interval.
- Limitation. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total aggregate liability to any Creator, arising from any cause whatsoever, shall not exceed the total commission actually earned and unpaid on qualifying sales at the time the claim arose.
Nothing in this section creates an obligation to accept any person as a Creator or to continue the program.
