Uses a standard 4.0 scale (A = 4.0, A- = 3.7, B+ = 3.3 and so on). Weighted GPA adds 0.5 for honors and 1.0 for college-level courses. Schools and colleges vary, so use the scale your transcript states. Your entries stay in this browser only.

How to calculate a homeschool GPA

The formula

Convert each grade to grade points, multiply by the course credits, add them up, and divide by total credits attempted. A full-year course is commonly 1.0 credit and a semester course 0.5.

Weighted vs. unweighted

Unweighted GPA uses the same 4.0 scale for every course. Weighted GPA adds extra points for harder courses. Many homeschool families show both on the transcript and say which scale they used.

Do colleges accept a parent-calculated GPA?

For homeschoolers the parent normally produces the transcript. Colleges usually look at the course list, the grades and the rigor behind them, so keep records that back up each grade.

Is my data saved anywhere?

No. Everything is calculated in your browser and kept only on this device so your list is still here when you come back.
